Can Grau Vell 'Tramp'

Tramp, a stray, has become a faithful watchdog and friend. After a nice harvest in 2011, we made a wine with a shorter ageing process. Nine months in French oak foudre and barrels to show the power of our fruit.

Jordi Castellví i Agut, Owner & Winemaker, Can Grau Vell

Can Grau Vell is a rarity — an urban vineyard in an industrial suburb of Barcelona, an unlikely spot for a world-class winery. When Jordi first saw the property, it was planted with olive trees and wheat. A friend in the business told him it was folly to buy the land, but a smitten Jordi followed his heart. The results justify his intuition.

Tramp was named after a stray dog who found his way onto the Can Grau Vell estate. The wine itself is aged for nine months in French oak foudre, both 1000L and 300L.
